Breathe in the air

During your stay, there is much to see and do. Widecombe-in-the-Moor, North Bovey, and Moretonhampstead offer excellent pubs serving locally sourced food and ales.
Widecombe has the famous church known as ’Cathedral on the Moors’, as well as a National Trust shop, post office, gift shops and several tea rooms. Castle Drogo, the last castle built in England, is within easy reach, along with many other National Trust properties.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Dartmoor offers rocky tors, wild ponies, exquisite walks, horse riding, fishing, cycling, falconry and golf at Bovey Castle. Within 8 miles are the picturesque villages of Ashburton and Chagford, as well as Moretonhampstead with historic inns, excellent pubs, tea rooms, antique shops, tennis courts and a miniature pony centre.
The beach at Teignmouth is 14 miles from Town Barton. North Devon surfing beaches make for excellent day trips. To the south are the stunning beaches of the South Hams.
Bovey Tracey is 4 miles with a good range of shops and takeaways. The village pub is ¼ mile from Town Barton.
